President Buhari is in South Africa attending the Intra-African Trade Fair taking place in Durban. I hope the proposals he is putting forward include suggestions like this:

[1] As from 2022, all African nations must stop exporting wildlife. If anyone wants to see lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, gorillas, baboons, zebras, rhinos, hippos, etc, they should come to Africa. There is absolutely no justification for the zoo. For starters it is a crime against nature to cage wild animals and Africa's tourism industry will never kick off if her animals are constantly being exported

Charles Soludo should set himself a target of withdrawing Anambra State from the federal allocation formula by 2030 to make the point that Ndigbo are not parasites but productive people

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Nothing is as responsible for Nigeria's current socio-economic woes as the federal revenue allocation formula. It has made us dependent on one primary commodity, stifled economic growth and inhibited productivity. I am hoping that Charles Soludu will initiative the process that will eventually slay this dragon. If by say 2029, Anambra state has a gross domestic product (GDP) of $200bn, it has no need whatsoever for the paltry Abuja handouts

I keep asking myself what has happened to the pan-African dreams of our founding fathers like Kwame Nkrumah

Ayo Akinfe

[1] On this day, November 12, in 1961, Queen Elizabeth visited Ghana for what was a hugely popular tour. She danced with President Kwame Nkrumah on the night and after event, all talk of Ghana leaving the Commonwealth just ended. I long for a return to the days when an African leader could force the British monarch to embark on a trip like this
