Liverpool aim to sign Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester in a bid to bolster their midfield

ENGLISH Premiership giants Liverpool are keen to sign Super eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City in a bid to shore up their porous midfield which the club regards as its Achilles Heel.

Recently defeated in the Uefa Champions League final by Real Madrid who not only outscored them 3-1 but also dominated the midfield during the match, Liverpool believe what they need is an enforced in the middle of the park. Regarded as the best destroyer in the English Premier League, Ndidi won more tackles than any other player last season.

Liverpool are now genuinely considering purchasing Ndidi this summer with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp claimed to be an admirer of his talents. Ndidi has been a major success at Leicester since arriving in England and has often been a standout performer for them over the course of the last 18 months.

Apparently, Klopp wants to recruit another central midfielder along with the incoming Naby Keita this summer.  Leicester will be keen to retain the services of their holding midfielder given his importance to the side but it seems a move certainly could be made by the Reds as they look to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

World Cup-bound with the Super Eagles, Ndidi, 21, is expected to marshal the Nigerian midfield in Russia and a good outing could boost his value further. It is not yet clear if Liverpool intend to sign him before the World Cup or wait until after the tournament, which will give the club an opportunity to assess him further.
