Ademola Lookman eyes return to Premier League as Chelsea and Man United chase him

SUPER Eagles winger Ademola Lookman could be returning to England this summer as Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United are both said to be looking t sign him from Atlanta before the start of the 2024/25 season.

 

Lookman, 26, has had a brilliant season in Italy, setting Serie A alight with scintillating performances scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists., He top form helped Atalanta win its first ever piece of European silverware in Dublin, as he scored a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Uefa Europa League final.

 

At international level too, Lookman has shone like a thousand stars as well, helping the Super Eagles of Nigeria to the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations final. During the tournament, he scored three goals and put in eye-catching displays which did not go unnoticed by Europe's leading clubs.

 

Over the last week, Chelsea have joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the pursuit of Lookman. Ahead of next season, Chelsea have already signed Nigeria-eligible Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham but are still in the transfer market for attackers.

 

Apparently, Chelsea are willing to pay up to €60m for Lookman but they face stiff competition from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich among others. British-born Lookman who has played for Fulham and Everton in the past, is said to be keen to return to the English Premier League after spending the last two seasons with Atalanta.
