Manchester United eye Chelsea's Victor Moses as Mourinho looks to enhance his firepower come January

MANCHESTER United are considering taking Chelsea winger Victor Moses on loan in January as part of a drive to strengthen the club's title challenge following his inability to break into the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge.

Moses, 27, has not featured much for Chelsea this season as following the arrival of Mr Sarri, the team has switched from the 3-5-2 formation in which he played as a wingback to a 4-3-3  structure. Now a peripheral figure in the team, Moses, who retired from international football to concentrate on his club career appears to have run into a cul-de-sac and is looking for a way to revive his career.

Currently sitting in seventh place in the English Premier League table, Manchester United needs to strengthen its squad in the January transfer window if the club wants to make a realistic title challenge. It is believed that manager Jose Mourinho has been given £100m to purchase new players in January and Moses is thought to be one of this key targets.

Other players Mourinho is said to be eyeing include Harry Maguire of Leicester City, Raphael Varane of Real Madrid, Nathan Ake of Bournemouth, Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina and Ozan Kabak of Galatasaray. Eager to enhance his firepower upfront, Mourinho is looking at Frankfurt's Croatia star Ante Rebic, Moses and Cengiz Ünder of Roma.
