MC Oluomo leaves hospital after clearing his N2m medical bill and may be flown abroad for further treatment

NATIONAL Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo has been released from hospital in Lagos amid indications that he may be flown abroad for further medical treatment.

Last week, MC Oluomo was among several people injured at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign at the Sky Power Ground at Ikeja in Lagos State. He has been at the Eko Hospital ever since then after it emerged that he was stabbed with a poisoned knife during the rowdy rally, where several others were also injured.

Last night, Mc Oluomo left Eko Hospital after clearing his N2m ($5,500) medical bill and it is believed he will now be flown to the US where he is a citizen for further treatment. Before he finally left hospital, MC Oluomo received a lot of well-wishers, including senior politicians and APC big wigs.

One of his associates said: “He is very fine and has nothing to worry about his health after his treatment at the hospital. Sometimes, he moves around and sometimes walks his visitors to the corridor, so he was in a sound health before leaving the hospital.

Three police vehicles had been stationed outside the hospital while MC Oluomo was on admission but now that he has left, they have been removed. Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Chike Oti, said some suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack and one NURTW chieftain has been declared wanted over the disruption of the APC rally.
