Nigeria desperately needs an association called Fulani Youth Against Armed Herdsmen with a clear vision for the future

By Ayo Akinfe

(1) As Fulani youths, we totally oppose the primitive and archaic practice of nomadism. We want to see all livestock raised in modern day ranches

(2) We demand the immediate disarmament of all Fulani cattle herdsmen

(3) We insist that a primary school be opened on every single cattle ranch across the country

(4) All ranchers must commit to educating their children up to secondary school level at the very minimum as a means of bridging the educational gap between north and south Nigeria

(5) We want to see an end to this parasitic federal allocation formula that keeps impoverishing our people. By 2030, we want to see a new economic model in place whereby states generate all Nigeria’s revenue

(6) We call for an immediate end to medical tourism. If a political leader is ill, him dying in Nigeria is a lesser evil that the unacceptable practise of our politicians being treated abroad at public expense. Anyone who passes away on his sick bed in Nigeria should be buried with full national honours

(7) Over the next 10 years, agriculture, animal husbandry and solid minerals must create at least 20m processing and manufacturing jobs across northern Nigeria

(8) We want to see northern Nigeria produce at least 1m veterinary doctors over the next 20 years to develop the livestock industry

(9) From henceforth, politicians sending their children abroad to get educated should lead to them immediately forfeiting their office and serving a five year mandatory jail term

(10) It will be an impeachable offence with a 10 year jail term for any governor to use state funds to support religious pilgrimages abroad. Such money should be used to build Nigerian tourists attractions
