EFCC assures Our Mumu Don Do campaigners that it will bring Diezani back to face prosecution

ECONOMIC and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials have assured campaigners trying to get former petroleum minister Diezani Alison-Madueke extradited back into the UK that they will do everything to get her returned to the country.

Anti-corruption pressure group Our Mumu Don Do  that organised the  campaign which resulted in President Muhammadu Buhari returning from London has now turn its attention to getting former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke extradited from the UK. Led by musical icon Charles, Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, it has held sit-ins outside the EFCC offices in Abuja demanding her repatriation.

Yesterday, Charly Boy, along with the convener of Concerned Nigerians Deji Adeyanju led a team of protesters to the EFCC offices where they were received by its executive secretary Emmanuel Aremu. He assured them that Diezani would soon be repatriated to face the corruption allegations against her.

Mr Adeyanju said: “Our message is simple, since you don’t want to assist the UK in prosecuting her, bring back Diezani and also prosecute everyone whether PDP or APC. Diezani is enjoying in London and if you look at her press release the other day, she is practically laughing at Nigerians.

"You don’t need Baba to give any instruction before you swing into action. Corruption is just everywhere.”
