Local Grays community celebrates socialite Moji Bishi treating her to exciting birthday bash

DOZENS of community leaders gathered in Grays recently to celebrate the birthday  of erstwhile socialite and good causes campaigner Moji Bishi at an all night party which took place as Escape restaurant.

Attracting large numbers of socialites, event planners, community leaders and entertainment industry bigwigs, the event involved all night dancing, the cutting of a cake and the provision of old school music by DJ Alexo. Guests were also treated to an assortment of Nigerian cuisine including fried rice, jollof rice, moi-moi and yam porridge.

Ms Bishi said: "We have such a wonderful and vibrant community in the UK and over recent years, we have expanded our presence in Grays and the surrounding towns of Essex. This community has given me so much, so I thought that as a way of saying thank you, I should invite everyone to my birthday and treat them."

One of the guests on the night, Funmi Cole, added: "Moji is such a lovely character, full of life, energy and vitality, who is always there to help anyone in needs. She does a lot of work for those needing assistance such as those living with disability, the young, the elderly and those with different forms of impairment, so it is only fair that we celebrate her too."

Another guest Doyin Owoeye, said she was happy that the local community came out to celebrate Moji as it was a way of showing its appreciation. Another guest Kikelomo Boboye, said she was delighted about the fact that the Nigerian community in Grays has proven that it can support itself and celebrate one another.
