Umahi warns all his appointees that they will be sacked if they criticise Buhari or other governors

GOVERNOR David Umahi of Ebonyi State has warned all his commissioners and political appointees that he will sack any of them who takes it upon themselves to criticises President Muhammadu Buhari.

Despite being in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Umahi and President Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are close friends. With the political temperature in the country rising as the two parties engage in a war of words over the ongoing dispute in the presidency, Governor Umahi has warned his aides not to join in.

Francis Nwaze, the governor's spokesman, said: "Umahi has prohibited any of his political appointees from castigating or abusing the Nigerian president, General Muhammadu Buhari. Doing such to any government or any governor in this country has no value to add to his administration.

“The governor has advised that anyone who wishes to throw unnecessary stones against any of the above mentioned leaders, should, in his or her own best interest, get ready to leave his government as such will attract immediate sacking. Any posting, henceforth against the president, any governor or government from any of his appointees will attract immediate termination of appointment by him."
