Run my Nigerian businesswoman Elsie Reed, The Tech Ladder, seeks to empower Nigerian youngsters by equipping them with 21st century skills. Ms Reed, said her programme is designed to train and equip Nigerians, especially the youths, to be fit for engagement in today’s IT-driven global economy.

She added: “We prepare them for Microsoft and project management exams. We have so far trained up to 70 in computer fundamentals such as business analysis, project management, Microsoft office suite, computer repairs, programming and database management.

“We have students from universities in Nigeria and Leeds doing industrial attachment with us, we also have Nigerian trainers who live in Nigeria We have Nigerian students living in the diaspora like UK, America, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Belize already enrolled in the programme and we don’t discriminate when it comes to tribe or religion on our application form.

“We have like 15 in training and over 20 signed up students for the next batch which starts in a month. Students also work on real life projects, which help them develop real life skills and get involved in all the software development life cycle, so they get to understand how different teams come together to solve real life problems."
