Ndidi heads into Brazil game as the best tackler in the English Premier league so far this season

SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has once more soared to the top of the English Premiership table as the best tackler in the league having recorded 35 so far during the eight games of the 2019/20 season so far.

Ndidi, 22, who is currently in Singapore with the Super Eagles ahead of Sunday's friendly game against Brazil, has been rated by Whoscored as the best tackler in England, ahead of the likes of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante. According to statistics just published, Ndidi made nine tackles against Newcastle United and had four each against Wolves, Bournemouth and Tottenham.

He also recorded seven tackles against Chelsea, five against Manchester United and two against Liverpool. At the moment, he and his Leicester City team mate Ricardo Pereira have made 35 tackles each so far this season.

Last season, Ndidi was voted the best tackler in the English Premier League after it was revealed he made 144 tackles over the course of the campaign. During the 2017/18 season, Ndidi won 138 tackles, making him the first player to lead the top of tackle charts for two consecutive seasons.

Apart from being the top tackler last season Ndidi became the third Nigerian ever to have played in every match of a Premier League campaign. Joseph Yobo was the first Nigerian to achieve this feat having featured 38 times for Everton during the 2006/07 season, while Victor Moses repeated the feat with Wigan during the 2011/12 campaign.
