Isis threatens to disrupt Nigeria vs Argentina friendly match in Russia on November 14

TERRORIST network Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) has threatened to disrupt Nigeria's forthcoming friendly game with Argentina due to take place in Russia on November 14 publishing pictures insinuating that it will set off bombs at the event.

Next month, Nigeria and Argentina are due to face each other in the Russian city of Krasnodar as both team's step up their preparations for the World Cup. Both countries will meet for the eighth time at senior international level and for the first time since 2014, when Argentina won 3-2 at the World Cup in Brazil.

However, Isis has posted a picture of Lionel Messi in prison, publishing a mocked-up image of the star in a prison jumpsuit, with blood coming from his eye. This has forced the  Argentine Football Association to demand special security for Messi and other members of the national team ahead of the match.

Claudio Tapia, the president of the Argentine Football Association met the Russian ambassador to his country Victor Koronelli to discuss the threat. Mr Tapia has also been working with Mr Koronelli and another Russian diplomat, Dmitriy Belov, to work on additional security at Moscow’s Bronnitsy Training Centre, which will house the Argentine team for the World Cup.

Nigeria's next international match will be the dead rubber in Algeria in their final World Cup qualifying match on 10 November, while Argentina face Russia in a friendly in Moscow on 11 November. After both games, the two teams will then travel to Krasnodar to face each other three days later.
