Emirates introduces Airbus A380 on its London and Paris routes as it waits on Nigeria to resume flights

MIDDLE East airline Emirates has announced that it will begin flying its Airbus A380 to London and Paris as from Wednesday July 15 as part of an ambitious resumption plan instituted following the end of the coronavirus lockdown.

Operating in Nigeria since 2004, Emirates used to have four daily flights into the country, with two flights each to Dubai from Lagos and Abuja. So far, however, Emirates is yet to fly an Airbus plane to Nigeria as it used the Boeing 777 aircraft and it is not yet certain if a change will occur when flights resume.

Nigeria is yet to open her international airports as for now only domestic flights are allowed buy the aviation industry is hoping to be given the all clear soon. Emirates has gradually been getting up to speed, resuming operation from Dubai on July 7 under strict health protocols and is planning to extend this by flying the 380 aircraft to London's Heathrow Airport and Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris as from July 15.

Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ chief operating officer said: “The A380 remains a popular aircraft among our customers and it offers many unique on-board features. We are delighted to bring it back into the skies to serve our customers on flights to London and Paris from July 15 and we are looking forward to gradually introducing our A380 into more destinations according to the travel demand on specific destinations.

“The Emirates A380 experience remains unique in the industry and even though we’ve modified services onboard for the health and safety of our crew and customers, we are confident that our customers would welcome flying again in this quiet, comfortable aircraft. Emirates will commence flights for travellers to Dhaka as from July 24 and Munich as from  July 15, adding to our growing network."

Emirates currently offers flights to over 40 cities, with convenient connections to, from and through its Dubai hub for customers travelling between the Asia Pacific, the Gulf, Europe and the Americas. Flights to Dhaka and Munich would be operated with an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and can be booked on emirates.com or via travel agents.
