Arsenal promote three Nigerian teenagers to first team ahead of tomorrow's trip to Brighton

ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta promoted three Nigeria-eligible teenagers to the club's  first team ahead of their impending trip to Brighton & Hove tomorrow as the growing injury list has left him short of players.

Due to a combination of injuries and coronavirus concerns, the like of Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian, David Luiz and Thomas Partey are all our of the Arsenal squad for the Brighton game. As a result, Mr Arteta has promoted Folarin Balogun, Ryan Alebiosu and Miguel Azeez to the team for the match.

They will all travel with Arsenal to the coast for the game tomorrow having participated in the final training session in London yesterday afternoon. Striker Balogun has already put in some fine performances in the Europa League, while central midfielder Azeez also debuted in the Europa League, coming off the bench to play the last seven minutes against Irish side Dundalk.

Right back Alebiosu is a key player for Arsenal U23s but has yet to make his competitive debut for the first team. All three players, who came through the ranks of the Arsenal academy and are listed as scholars with the club, will likely be on the bench tomorrow.
