Bola Tinubu returns to Nigeria after a month abroad where it is believed he went for medical treatment

ALL Progressives Congress (APC) national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending a month in Europe where it was believed that he was hospitalised in Paris and also visited the UK.

Last month, Asiwaju Tinubu left Nigeria suddenly and inexplicably and yesterday, he was spotted returning via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, in company of some of his aides. There were reports that he tested positive to Covid-19 but the former governor's media team denied such stories.

Tunde Rahman, a spokesman for Asiwaju Tinubu said: “Asiwaju is healthy and does not have Covid-19. He took his annual trip and as part of the preparation for the trip he took a Covid-19 test which was negative.

"Since the advent of the pandemic, Asiwaju has always done his level best to observe, as strictly as humanly possible, all government advice and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus and to keep himself and those around him safe from harm.”

There is speculation that the former Lagos State governor would contest the 2023 presidential elections and posters to that effect have already appeared in several parts of the country. Although Asiwaju Tinubu has not publicly declared his interest in the highest office in the land, his allies and associates have started campaigning.
