Glasgow Rangers close in on Bright Osayi-Samuel as Fenerbahce agree to lower asking price

SCOTTISH champions Glasgow Rangers are closing in on the signing of Nigerian-born winger Bright Osayi-Samuel after his Turkish club Fenerbahce agreed to lower its asking price of €5m to facilitate a transfer.

Former Queens Parks Rangers (QPR) winger Osayi-Samuel 23, joined the Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce in January after initially agreeing a pre-contract move from Loftus Road. He played 19 times in Turkey last season, scoring one goal and making one assist but has struggled to settle into life in Turkey and there has been much speculation regarding his future this summer.

Rangers have been extensively linked to the player as have old firm rivals Celtic, with both clubs have been asked by Fenerbahce to come up with €5m. According to sports website Fanatik, Fenerbahce is willing to evaluate any offers that come in for the player.

Report claims that Osayi-Samuel could move for as little as €3m with both parties ready to part ways after a difficult six months in Turkey. Like many English players, Osayi-Samuel who grew up in London it is not unusual that he had an ill-fated spell abroad.
