Super Eagles manager delighted over Ebuehi's return to fitness ahead of Poland and Serbia games

SUPER Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has expressed delight at Tyronne Ebuehi's return from injury after the Ado Den Haag fullback returned to training with his Dutch side this week after a recent lay-off.

Last weekend, Ebuehi, 22, was substituted amid suspicions that he had picked up a groin strain. Prior to Saturday’s match against NAC, Ebuehi had started and completed each of the last 12 games played by Ado Den Haag in the Dutch top-flight.

Ebuehi was one on the 28 players called up by Mr Rohr for Nigeria's forthcoming friendlies against Poland and Serbia taking place on March 23 and 27. It had been feared that he might miss the matches but having returned to training he is now certain to have returned to full fitness in time for the games.

In a video posted by the club, Ebuehi was sighted among the players in training. Ebuehi, who shunned the chance to play for the Netherlands in preference for Nigeria has been ever present for the modest Dutch side this season and his progress has already earned him a move to Portuguese side Benfica.
