Fani-Kayode blasts Arewa pastors who endorse Buhari for second term as hungry descendants of Cain

FORMER aviation minister Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has lashed out at northern clergymen who visited President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday and pledged their support to him promising to fish out their members who are disloyal to the government.

Yesterday, a group of religious leaders the Arewa Pastors Non-denominational Initiative for Peace in Nigeria, visited President Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja, where they endorsed him for second term. Representing over 45,000 pastors from across northern Nigeria, they accused their colleagues of inciting violence and working against President Buhari.

Bishop John Richard, the leader of the delegation, said President Buhari should be given a second term owing to his achievements in security. Reacting to the visit and endorsement, Chief Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter page to describe the pastors as hungry and descendants of Cain.

He added: “Some hungry pastors from the Arewa Pastors Peace Initiative visited Buhari today to endorse him. I’m sure none of their daughters are being held by Boko Haram and no member of their family has been slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen. Woe unto those that support the descendants of Cain.”

Christians across northern Nigeria have bore the brunt of recent upheavals in the country as their churches have frequently been bombed and their members attacked by Boko Haram. Northern Christian communities have also been regularly attacked by well-armed Fulani cattle herdsmen, especially in Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Benue and Nassarawa states.
