Iwobi set to sign up to a new three year deal with Everton worth £100,000 a week

ENGLISH Premier League side Everton and Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi are on the verge of reaching agreement on a new three year contract  that will see him earn £100,000 a week.

Iwobi, 26, has been one of the best players at Everton this season and during the last campaign was one of the reasons the club avoided relegation. So far this season, Iwobi has excelled for Everton, recording five assists and scoring one goal in 15 Premier League games, rising from being a maligned figure at Goodison Park to being one of the go-to guys.

With Iwobi's current deal set to expire at the end of next season, Everton want to extend his contract and the two sides are close to reaching an agreement. According to British tabloid The Sun, Iwobi and Everton are very close to agreeing on a new deal that could see him remain at the club till 2026.

He currently earns £70,000 a week at Everton but if he agrees to a new deal, Iwobi would be taking home £100,000 per week. Despite Iwobi’s brilliance, however, Everton is still shaky, as the club is yet to show any consistency in the league.

Everton are currently sitting 17th place in the English Premier League table, one point above relegation positions. Once the league resumes after the World Cup, Everton will be looking to Iwobi to help revive their fortunes.
