[1] Kano State apparently has the second largest economy in Nigeria after Lagos. Many Nigerians have forgotten that during World War Two, their country was the world’s largest groundnut producer. Thanks to Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, it was Nigerian peanuts that helped sustain allied troops during the conflict

[1] Ekiti State has one of the lowest internally generated revenue (IGR) figures in Nigeria. The paltry sum of $13m a year the state generates is just over 10% of the $110m Ekiti gets in Federation Account Allocations and this needs to change immediately. In my opinion, the only way to do this from what I can see is through agriculture, agro-processing, solid minerals and tourism

[1] For starters Niger State has the largest landmass in Nigeria with an area of 76,363 km2. This is more than double the whole of the southeast geo-political zone with its 29,525 square kilometres and almost as much as the entire 79,665 square kilometres that makes up the southwest. Niger State should be one endless stream of farming plantations

[1] I would argue that Taraba is the “most wasted state in Nigeria.” It is by far the most beautiful state in the country, it has an abundance of wildlife and were we a thinking people, we would have developed Taraba State into another Serengeti or Masai Mara

[1] Back in the 2000s, a programme named Delta Beyond Oil was launched. This programme appears to have fallen by the wayside, so I say it is time to revive the scheme and end this parasitic dependence on petroleum for survival. Delta State has historically produced rubber, palm oil, timber, cocoa, etc. We need mega processing plants at Warri, Sapele, Ughelli, Asaba, Patani, etc to turn all these raw materials into finished products
