I cannot think of one person better equipped to implement this South East Development Plan than Nnamdi Kanu and were I in Bola Tinubu’s shoes I would appoint him to the role on May 30

Ayo Akinfe

[1] I would immediately announce the creation of a South East Industrial Directorate (SEID) with a mandate to turn the geo-political Zik e into one huge manufacturing hub. Kind of similar to Germany’s Ruhr Valley

[2] I would release Nnamdi Kanu from detention and appoint him as the chief executive of this new agency. I would obviously also drop all charges against him and decriminalise Ipob

As an exponent of the Big Bang theory I believe Tinubu should get things going by getting 55 prominent Nigerians to sign a Declaration of Economic Independence in front of Nigeria’s most iconic building

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Do you know that on August 2 1776, 55 men signed the US Declaration of Independence. As a nation, they have never looked back since. Nigeria needs to make a similar statement to the whole world

[2] Such a declaration signed at the National Theatre, Iganmu, our most iconic building needs to first of all declare that all Nigerian states will become self-reliant by the year 2025, generating as much as they spend at the very least

One of Nigeria’s biggest tragedies is that our ruling elite have not one iota of shame about the fact that they lag so far behind their counterparts elsewhere. Bola Tinubu has to change that mindset by addressing the following issues

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Every serious nation must have the capacity to manufacture its own military hardware. There is simply no way you can provide security within your borders if you have to buy equipment on the international market. It is totally impossible to get the equipment you want at the price you want, in the specifications you want, at the time you want and in the quantities you want if you do not have a domestic manufacturing capability

I hope this Sudanese crisis has brought it home to Tinubu that Nigeria has a very weak foreign policy and he needs to make this a top priority

Ayo Akinfe

[1] Mali is currently being ruled by a military junta

[2] Chad is currently being ruled by a military junta

[3] Guinea has recently followed suit with the army in power

[4] Unless we want Western nations coming into our backyard to tell us how to live, Nigeria needs to get her act together fast
