Nigeria's electorate should be asking the APC and the ADC alliance which of them can deliver in the following areas. Whoever can implement more of these policies should be the one to get voted into office come 2027

Ayo Akinfe

[1] We will completely abolish the federal allocation regime by 2040, compelling all 36 states to generate their own revenue

[2] We are giving the Nigerian military one month to wipe out Boko Haram, Iswap and all other terrorist sects operating within Nigeria

[3] By the end of 2026, we will have gotten every single cattle herdsman in the country operating from a dedicated and secure animal ranch

I would love it if we woke up tomorrow and the ADC alliance announced this as their agriculture policy, forcing the ruling APC to react with a radical pronouncement of its own

Ayo Akinfe

These are 10 crops we will ensure that Nigeria becomes the world’s undisputed number one producer of by 2030. Just as we currently are the number one producer for yam, cassava, kolanuts and shea nuts, we will seek to dominate output in the following crops:

[5] Plantain

From what I have seen of the ADC so far, there are no prominent women among its leaders. If they want female votes, they need to come up with a gender equality policy that looks like this

Ayo Akinfe

[1] As from January 1 2026, all Nigerian females will have acess to free breast cancer screening

[2] Our National Assembly will pass a bill making it mandatory that as from 2027, at least one third of all political appointees must be female. Any state cabinet that fails to meet this requirement will not be recognised and have its federal allocation withheld

I look forward to this new ADC alliance holding its first ever party conference. When they do, one of the first motions I expect them to pass is an agreement to place a moratorium on crude oil exploration

Ayo Akinfe

[1] As recently as 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Deep Offshore Act into law, increasing our dependence on crude oil revenue. Everywhere on planet earth, nations are moving away from fossil fuels

[2] Can someone please explain to me why before this bill was signed in 2019, our National Assembly did not debate imposing a moratorium on oil prospecting and drilling across Nigeria

Sai Baba Buhari was a chant you heard from every Almajiri in northern Nigeria because they saw him as their champion. Our National Assembly should now pass a Muhammadu Buhari Almajiri Act to honour him

Ayo Akinfe

[1] We should create a Nigerian Border Guard and seek to recruit 2m of these Almajiri youths into it. Their first task would be to plant trees across Nigeria’s northern border all the way from Kebbi to Adamawa states. These trees, which shall be painted in Nigeria’s colour will mark our territorial borders. Ultimately, they will be tasked with building fences along our borders
