Just imagine how we could dramatically enhance Nigeria’s economy if we manufactured battle tanks for every army in Africa

Ayo Akinfe

[1] When I look at the way Nato nations are falling over each other to supply Ukraine with battle tanks, I weep for our dear African continent. When has the West ever assisted an African nation like that in say its battle against terrorists?

[2] Battle tanks are actually quite a rare commodity at the moment. Russia is having to roll out previously decommissioned Soviet era T-55 tanks as the war with Ukraine has created a scarcity due to the high casualty rate

With elections looming again, Nigerians have to start asking politicians about their policies. I for one would not vote for a party that does not have a Niger Delta policy that looks like this

Ayo Akinfe

[1] From henceforth, the Nigerian Delta Development Corporation (NDDC) will become a quasi-government body with 50% of its directors coming from the private sector

[2] The NDDC will have 10 public sector directors, one from each of its nine member states and one representing the federal government. They will sit on the board along with the 10 private sector directors

Ayo Akinfe

I would just love it if Bianca Ojukwu hits the ground running introducing foreign direct investment targets for all our ambassadors

Ayo Akinfe

[1] No matter how you look at it, Nigeria has no choice other than to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) if she wants to diversify her economy. Our biggest problem as an economy is that we are too dependent on one primary commodity for our survival

[2] In 2023 total FDI into Nigeria only added up to a paltry $1.87bn according to the World Bank. Even at it’s all time high in 2008, Nigerian FDI only totalled $4.7bn
