Imo woman arrested after she sold her baby for N500,000 and lied to her husband that she had a still birth

POLICE in Imo State have arrested a woman identified as Chinaza Ukaonu for selling her new born baby for N500,000 ($1,360) and lying to her husband that the infant was delivered stillborn and had been buried.

(1) Today, August 31 calls for sober reflection as on this day in 1957, Malaya gained independence from Britain. Like Nigeria, she was ruthlessly colonised by the British but had to be let go after World War Two. 

(2) This gentleman here Tunku Rahman, was their first prime minister, taking office some five months after Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana. Mr Rahman served as both Malaya's first prime minister (1957-63) and upon its formation Malaysia's (1963-1970).

Husband asks court to dissolve his marriage because wife calls the name of her ex-lover during sex

ZIMBABWEAN husband Felix Dube has asked the Bulawayo Customary Court to dissolve his marriage because his wife constantly called out the name of her former lover whenever they had sex.

 

Mr Dube dragged his wife, Nombulelelo Moyo, to the divorce court, for habitually shouting her ex-lover’s name during sex with him. In the suit, he claimed he suspects Moyo was still dating her ex, given the frequency, with which she calls out his name during their intimate moments.

Frederick Lugard was Nigeria’s most successful economic manager ever and we need to replicate his feat

(1) Today is August 30. On this day in 1894 British explorer Frederick Lugard began his expedition of the Niger which led to the eventual creation of the nation state called Nigeria. This is the flag which Lugard gave the territory. In just 20 years, Lugard had captured nearly 1m square kilometres, subduing about 20m people from 250 different ethnic groups. He created the biggest and most lucrative British colony south of the Sahara to the envy of the Germans and French
