Professor Pat Utomi reveals that he has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving treatment

FORMER Nigerian presidential candidate Professor Pat Utomi has revealed that he is currently involved in a bitter struggle with cancer which has restricted his public engagements of late.

Regarded as one of Nigeria's most brilliant economists, Utomi is a professor of political economy and management. Earlier today, he expert revealed that a biopsy he had in 2022 showed he tested positive for cancer

Professor Utomi said: “When a biopsy showed I was positive in 2022, I began treatment with a branch of a cancer centre in Ikeja and VI. I sometimes came from election campaigns to the centre near the airport and the doctors would try to smuggle me out from the back.”

He explained that his young nephews and cousins, who were medical doctors in Europe and the US, joined forces with the Lakeshore people and decided they wanted him in their direct care after the election. Professor Utomi said that is why it seems he went quiet because they controlled his phones to reduce the stress.
