OLUWO of Iwoland Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has assured the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria Cui Jianchun that Iwo is safe for business and investment and he would welcome the location of any Chinese facility within his domain.
Speaking in Abuja when he dropped in to see the ambassador, Oba Akanbi asked Mr Jianchun to prioritise Iwo in whatever investment and business ties China would have with Nigeria. He further called on the ambassador to work closely with the new government to ensure improved economic ties.
Oba Akanbi added: “I urge the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, to work closely with the new government for improved economic ties. Insecurity is being checked and Nigeria is now safer for business. My domain, Iwo and my state, Osun, are business-friendly, so your companies and investments are safe with maximum profits.”
Also, the Oluwo called on President Bola Tinubu to collaborate with the Chinese government to improve the country’s production and investment drive. He noted that China’s strong production power enabled it to become the giant in the sector.
Oba Akanbi said: “China is ahead. They started from somewhere. Today, they are the giant in the production sector. Their economic status is superlative. We should have a bilateral economic affinity with them.”
He further described China’s productive power as enviable, calling on President Tinubu to partner with the Chinese government in an investment drive. Oba Akanbi said the government can also consider loans from China for Nigeria’s infrastructural growth and development as the Chinese can be trusted, to some extent.
