Nigeria’s new agriculture minister has to call all the state commissioners to a meeting and get them to agree on the following annual national production quotas

[4] Coconuts - 10m tonnes

[5] Groundnuts - 5m tonnes

[6] Cocoa - 2m tonnes

[7] Kolanuts - 300,000 tonnes

[8] Cassava - 80,000 tonnes

[9] Millet - 20,000 tonnes

[10] Sorghum - 20,000 tonnes

Whether we like it or not, we have to become a major manufacturer in the agro-allied sector. We then need factories to turn all this agricultural produce into finished goods.

This has got to be the first step in weaning us off petroleum as our sole source of income. Tinubu needs to wage a war against Nigeria’s current mono-economy status.
