ABOUT 20 Super Eagles players have arrived at the team camp at Portimao in Portugal ahead of the team's double header against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique starting off with Friday's game against the three times Asian Cup champions.
On Friday October 13, the Eagles will face Saudi Arabia at the Estadio Municipal de Portimão in the Algarve and then three days later will face Mozambique's national team the Black Mambas. Both matches have been organised to prepare the Super Eagles for their forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which begin with a home fixture against Lesotho on November 13 in Uyo before travelling away to play Zimbabwe four days later.
As of this morning, Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze are among the 20 players who have arrived in camp. Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha, West Brom's Semi Ajayi, Nice striker Terem Moffi, Fulham defender Calvin Bassey and Fenerbahce rightback Bright-Osayi-Samuel have also showed up in camp.
Also in camp are the trio of Chidozie Awaziem, Umar Sadiq and Tyronne Ebuehi who received late invitations due to the injuries to Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina and Jamilu Collins respectively. Completing the players in camp are Francis Uzoho, Kenneth Omeruo, Bruno Onyemaechi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Joe Aribo, Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman,
Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka, Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheancho and debutante Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are expected to arrive later today. However, the planned arrival of goalkeepers Olorunleke Ojo and Adebayo Adeleye who play for Enyimba and Hapoel Jerusalem, respectively, remains unknown.
