Peseiro opts for very attacking formation for tonight's game against Saudi Arabia

SUPER Eagles manager Jose Peseiro has opted for an attack-minded team for tonight's friendly game against Saudi Arabia opting to start with two-striker forwardline featuring Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface.

Opting for what looks like a 4-2-4 formation, Mr Peseiro's has named a team with Francis Uzoho in goal and a back four of Tyronne Ebuehi, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey and Bruno Onyemaechi. In midfield, he has gone for Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi and has then opted to use four attacking players in Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwuze, Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface.

This formation will obviously leave the Eagles lightweight in midfield and make the team, vulnerable whenever they lose the ball. Saudi Arabia will be looking to exploit this weakness on the counter-attack as Nigeria will lack the mandatory three ball-winners in midfield as the likes of Frank Onyeka and Joe Aribo will not be starting.

Later today, the Eagles will face Saudi Arabia at the Estadio Municipal de Portimão in the Algarve and then in three days time will face Mozambique's national team the Black Mambas at the same venue. Both matches have been organised to prepare the Super Eagles for their forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which begin with a home fixture against Lesotho on November 13 in Uyo before travelling away to play Zimbabwe four days later.
