Fenerbahce get Osayi-Samuel to help convince international team mate Iheanacho

TURKISH giants Fenerbahçe has resorted to using Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel in a desperate bid to woo striker and team mate Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City during the forthcoming January transfer window.

Fenerbahçe are interested in signing Iheanacho during the January transfer window or if not then, in the summer when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. so far, however, the club has made little headway in its bid to acquire the Leicester striker, as Kelechi is focusing on his job with the Foxes.

Iheanacho is currently Leicester City's joint-top goalscorer and is leading their charge at the top of the Championship table as the club seeks to get promoted back to the Premier League. With the player not apparently interested in listening to offers at the moment, Fenerbahçe have asked their player Osayi-Samuel to speak to his international team mate on their behalf.

According to online sports portal Fotospor, Osayi-Samuel held transfer talk discussions with Iheanacho during the recent international break, attempting to lure him to Fenerbahçe. He apparently told his team mate that Fenerbahçe were actively seeking a younger striker as a long-term replacement for Edin Dzeko.

Leicester City were relegated to the Championship at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season but are everyone's bet for an immediate return. With Osayi-Samuel playing a behind-the-scenes role, his influence could bolster Fenerbahce's  chances of securing the services of the goal-scoring sensation.
