Super Eagles to camp in United Arab Emirates ahead of next year's Africa Cup of Nations

NIGERIA'S Super Eagles will camp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the team's preparations for the forthcoming 2024 Africa Cup of Nations taking place in January next year.

 

Africa's most prestigious tournament will be taking place between January 13 and February 11 and Nigeria is one of the main contenders for the trophy. With the Super Eagles not firing on all cylinders at the moment, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has decided to organiser a training camp in the UAE

NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire, said: “The Super Eagles camping details are not out yet but they will camp in the UAE.”

 

Next year, the African Cup of Nations will kick off on January 13, 2024, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, with the final set for 11 February 2024. Nigeria's Super Eagles are in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.

 

At the moment, the Super Eagles are struggling , playing draws in their recent two World Cup qualifiers, leaving fans very sceptical. At home, the team played a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Uyo and could also only manage to snatch a point away to Zimbabwe in their second game.
