SUPER Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel looks set to come to England during the forthcoming January transfer window as several Premier League and Championship clubs have stepped up their pursuit of him over the last few weeks.
Osayi-Samuel, 25, began his professional journey at Blackpool before moving to Queens Park Rangers in 2017, spending three and a half years at Loftus Road. Going abroad for the first time in January 2021, Osayi-Samuel moved to Fenerbahce, where he has since established himself as a reliable right full back and become a Nigerian international.
He is now highly sought-after in England with Crystal Palace emerging as the front-runner in the competition for his signature. other clubs desperate to sign him from Fenerbahce include Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United
Over the last two seasons, Osayi-Samuel has impressed while representing Fenerbahce in the Uefa Champions League, the Europa League and Europa Conference League. He also helped the club clinch the Turkish Cup last season, securing a 2-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in the final.
Following his success in Turkey, speculations trailed Osayi-Samuel’s potential return to England in the summer but nothing came out of the rumours. However, Crystal Palace are believed to be actively considering bringing the defender back to England, impressed by his consistent performances this season.
Fenerbahce’s current top position in the league table and their advancement from the Europa Conference League group in first place owe credit to Osayi-Samuel’s contributions. A key factor motivating Palace’s interest is the impending expiration of Osayi-Samuel’s contract in June 2025, fuelling hopes of securing the player at a reduced cost next year.
