Manchester United consider making a bid for Super Eagles-eligible playmaker Michael Olise

ENGLISH Premier League giants Manchester United are considering buying Nigeria-eligible playmaker Michael Olise during the current January transfer window as part of a desperate bid to strengthen its squad and revive a moribund title bid.

Manchester United are currently sitting seventh in the league table, a whopping 13 points behind the leaders Liverpool. Having only scored 24 goals to Liverpool and Aston Villa's 43 and Manchester City's 48, Man United know that they have to add more firepower upfront   and Olise has suddenly become a consideration.

Olise, 22, has emerged as one of the most promising youngsters in the Premier League and has been on the radar of the Nigerian Football Federation for a while. Back in 2021, Olise was invited to the Super Eagles camp but since then a tug-of-war has ensued for his services, with France, Algeria and England all interested in him.

Highly versatile, Olise can play both as both a playmaker and as a wide forward in a classic 4-3-3 formation. He has so far played for France's youth team but given his creative capability, Nigeria desperately needs him as the missing piece in the Super Eagles jigsaw puzzle.
