Arsenal consider making a bid for Bologna's Nigeria-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee

ENGLISH Premier League giants Arsenal are considering making a bid for Bologna's Nigeria-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee having watched him play in Serie A and being impressed with his performance.

Arsenal scouts recently went to watch Zirkzee, 22, a Netherlands U21 international, feature in a league game against AC Milan. In the match at the San Siro, Zirkzee opened the scoring in the 29th minute, rifling the ball beyond the reach of Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, to register his eighth goal of the campaign in the Italian top-flight.

With the Premier League now past its halfway point, Arsenal want to bolster their attack department with the addition of Zirkzee but a move this month before the January transfer window closes is highly unlikely. it is now looking like Arsenal will have to fight off interest from other clubs in the summer for Zirkzee 's signature.

This 2023/24 season been a breakthrough year for the Dutch-Nigerian striker as he has been one of the best young players in the Serie A. His performances have attracted interest from the likes of AC Milan, Manchester United, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

It will not be surprising if Zirkzee leaves Bologna at the end of the current campaign. With his goal against AC Milan over the weekend, Zirkzee has now registered eight goals and provided two assists in Serie A this season.
