Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry pastor becomes the latest clergyman to buy a private jet

CHRIST Mercyland Deliverance Ministry (CMDM) leader Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin has become the latest Nigerian pastorpruener to purchase a private jet joining the likes of Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo.

Prophet Fufeyin, 46, whose church is based in Warri, Delta State, bought the plane said to be worth N1.4bn (£.88m). Only recently, the clergyman who is said to always go to any lengths to please his spouse, was said to have given his wife N30m as a birthday present.

Posting pictures on the church's official Facebook page, Prophet Fufeyin showed off his newly acquired private jet. Known for his deliverance against demonic spirits, Prophet Fufeyin is also popular for his extravagant lifestyle.

Years ago, Prophet Fufeyin once attempted killing himself due to the severe hardship he was going through and abject poverty, by taking over dose of sleeping pills. However, he said he was saved by God’s divine grace under mysterious circumstances.

Between 2011 and 2015, his church has seen its membership rise to 22,000 from 15,000, leading to increased contributions and tithes. Nigerian evangelical clergymen are renown for demanding 0fferings from their followers and insisting that they pay 10% of their earnings to the church in the form of tithes.
