ENGLISH Premier League side Nottingham Forest has activated the one-year extension clause in the contact of Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina that will enable him to play for another season at the City Ground.

Last year, Aina, 27, joined Forest on a free transfer from Italian side Torino and went on to make 22 appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season. he also won the Premier League the Goal of the Month award once and but for injury probably would have featured in every league game.

Pleased with his contribution, the club have decided to extend his contract until the end of the 2024/25 season Before switching his allegiance to Nigeria in 2017, Aina, a 40-cap international, had represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels.

Nottingham Forest spokesman Ross Wilson, added: “Since Ola joined the club last summer he has impressed all of us with his performances both on the pitch and also with the positive personality that he brings to the group every day. We are delighted that he will move forward with us.”
