Bayern Leverkusen tell Man United to come up with £47m if they want Victor Boniface

ENGLISH Premier League giants Manchester United have been told by German Bundesliga champions Bayern Leverkusen to come up with $47m if they want to secure the services of Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface.

Boniface, 23, has become one of the most sough-after strikers in Europe due to his goal-scoring form that helped Leverkusen to the German league title last season. Following his €20m move from Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Jupiler League at the end of the previous season, Boniface set the Bundesliga alight, attracting the attention of several of Europe's big clubs in the process.

Early this week, Manchester United made a formal inquiry about the player and Leverkusen promptly responded, saying it has placed a £47m price tag on Boniface. In what was a breakthrough year for him, Boniface had a fantastic debut season in the German Bundesliga, scoring 31 goal involvements in 34 games, winning two trophies and was named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month four consecutive times between August and November 2023.

Boniface was the highest goal scorer in Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run and he was named the Best Rookie of the 2023/24 season. He defeated Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig, Ian Maatsen of Borussia Dortmund and Maximilian Beier of TSG Hoffenheim to win the gong, that recognises the best-performing young talent in the league.

Man United are believed to have also recently inquired about Victor Osimhen. They  apparently offered his club Napoli their young striker Rasmus Hojlund along with a sum said to be substantial in exchange for Osimhen in what looks like a desperate bid to bring the Super Eagles front man to the English Premier League.
