As President Tinubu arrives back in Nigeria from London this morning, I would love it if he issues a statement like this at the airport stating his plans for the next three years

Ayo Akinfe

[1] My government gives you a solemn pledge that it will provide security and ending the current scourge of banditry, kidnapping and criminality taking place across Nigeria

[2] We promise to boost the share of government non-oil revenue to 50% from the current 10%

[3] Our federal government promises to build at least 40,000 housing units a year to augment whatever the 36 states are building

[4] We will increase Nigeria’s railway network to 7,000km of standard gauge track from the current 3,505km of narrow gauge track

[5] Making Nigeria the world’s largest producer of cattle by-products like meat, dairy produce and leather is at the top of our economic agenda. This programme will be spearheaded by the construction of six mega cattle ranches

[6] We will boost electricity supply to 50,000MW from the current 7,000MW

[7] This government is committed to tarring at least 70% of all Nigeria’s rural roads

[8] We are committed to increasing the number of Nigerian hospital beds in Nigeria to 70,000 from the current 23,640

[9] Before our tenure ends in 2027, we guarantee that Nigeria will proces at least 90% of all the farm goods she produces

[10] Boosting Nigeria’s steel production to 20m tonnes a year is an immediate priority and we are initiating the process by getting the Ajaokuta, Aladja and Oshogbo mills run by the same company
