In the light of the incessant rise in fuel prices, how about the National Assembly pass this Nigerian Petrol Saving Bill 2024

[1] Motorcades of all government officials must never exceed five vehicles under any circumstances

[2] All official government cars from henceforth will be electric

[3] All government officials are to consider travelling by train as a first resort when going on official assignments

[4] When government officials are attending the same event, they should look to travel together in a coach rather than individually by car

[5] All government departments, ministries and agencies must offer their staff interest-free bicycle loans

[6] A fresh sum of $10bn will be invested to expand the Nigerian railway network

[7] All members of the National Assembly must give up 10% of their salaries, which will go towards the railway network

[8] To keep the price of aviation fuel down, there will be a 12 month moratorium on the use of private jets across Nigeria

[9] An immediate dredging of Nigeria’s main waterways will begin, starting with the rivers Niger and Benue. The whole idea is to create a national maritime transport network

[10] All states will be compelled by law to construct at least 200 electric car charging points each between now and the end of the year
