Adarabioyo expected to declare his senior international future to Nigeria any minute from now

CHELSEA centreback Tosin Adarabioyo has indicated that he may finally be willing to switch his international allegiance at senior level to Nigeria after the head of footballing organisation Team Nigeria UK dropped a hint to that effect.

Adarabioyo, 27, born in England to Nigerian parents, joined Chelsea from fellow west London side Fulham at the end of last season. He is eligible to play for both England and Nigeria but so far has shunned advances from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to feature for the Super Eagles, holding out for an invitation to the Three Lions.

It appears that it has now dawned on the defender that his only chance of senior international football is with Nigeria and according to Team Nigeria UK spokesman David Doherty, Adarabioyo is set to commit his international future to Nigeria. Up until now, Adarabioyo has played for various youth teams in England and it is believed that his family would like him to play for Nigeria.

Adarabioyo is known for his composed style of play, aerial strength and ability to play the ball out from the back. His potential inclusion in the Nigerian national team could bring a new dynamic to the Nigerian defence as the Super Eagles continue to build towards having a competitive squad once again.

As of now, Nigerian football fans are awaiting official confirmation from Adarabioyo and the NFF but this development is already generating a lot of excitement among them. In an interview with TVC News, Mr Doherty suggested that Adarabioyo could follow in the footsteps of other prominent Anglo-Nigerian players like Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman, who have opted for the Super Eagles in recent years.
