Money transfer firm Glo Currency sponsors Canuk gala dinner and donates five free tickets

MONEY transfer company Glo Currency has joined the ranks of corporate firms that have opted to sponsor this year's Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (Canuk) annual gala dinner with a cash offer and the donation of five free tickets.

Regarded as one of the fastest growing money transfer companies operating from the UK and serving the Nigerians in diaspora, Glo Currency prides itself on being able to offer multi-currency accounts for businesses and individuals that provide an instant, transparent and convenient way to transfer money around the globe. It operates from the United Kingdom, European Union, Canada and Australia, offering its customers the ability to access new markets in the easiest way possible.

Impressed by the activities of the current Canuk executive committee, Glo Currency has decided to become a sponsor of the December 14 gala dinner. Not only has the company taken out Canuk's bronze sponsorship package but it has also purchased five tickets, three of which will not be donated to members of Canuk organisations.

Toyin Solaru Balogun, Canuk's social secretary, said: "We are delighted to have a company like Glo Currency on board and them sponsoring us just proves that the Canuk brand is growing stronger by the day. Not only did Glo Currency take out a sponsorship package but they also purchased five tickets, which they asked us to donate to members of Canuk member-organisations.

"Our Idoma UK were the ones who recommended Canuk to Glo Currency and they have since requested two of the tickets, so we have decided to hand them a couple. We will now organise a mini quiz for all our member organisations and the top three contestants will get the remaining three tickets."

Glo Currency spokesman Olatunji Oyebanji, added: "Canuk is the umbrella body representing all Nigerian organisations in the UK, so it is only right that we enter into partnership with them. Our volume of business between the UK and Nigeria is growing by the day, so we believe it is important that UK diasporans all know who we are.

"We offer swift, professional, safe and efficient money transfer to all our clients and shall be making this point on the night. Canuk is expecting about 500 guests on the night, including the cream of the Nigerian society in the UK and we will be looking to sign as many of them up to Glo Currency as possible.

"Contestants participating in the Canuk quiz need to download the Glo Currency app and send a minimum of £100 to Nigeria between December 1 and 13 to be eligible for the free tickets. Also, even, non-contestants who download the app and send a minimum of £100 to Nigeria by the end of December 2024 will get free £10 added to their first transaction."

Rose Graham, Canuk's publicity secretary, added that with Canuk's incessant growth in membership, this year's gala dinner is going to be bigger and better than originally planned. She added that several dignitaries have been invited from Nigeria and hopefully, there will be an impressive array of VIPs on the night.

Victor Aleva, Canuk's financial secretary, urged everyone who wants to purchase tickets to attend the gala dinner to do so by paying directly into the Canuk bank account. He added that they should do this pay making payments into the association's Lloyds Bank account with the sort code of 301553 and account number 00224400.
