Nigeria has to manufacture her way out of poverty and the British companies need to expand into foreign markets, so this is a win-win situation for everyone. When you have a population of 200m people, you simply cannot rely on imports as nobody manufactures with you in mind.
I see no way out for Nigeria unless we start mass producing consumer products and exporting them in huge numbers. As per the UK, her local market is already saturated, so to expand her economy her companies need new markets and Nigeria with her huge population and close proximity is ideal.
If the rest of the world is sincere about helping Nigeria, they should hand us patents to certain products and let us manufacture them. If they do not and poverty and unemployment spiral out of control, then they should not complain when we become a haven for terrorist groups like Isis and Boko Haram.
As things stand, Nigeria has nothing to offer its youth to prevent them becoming terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and Fulani herdsmen. If you think #EndsSars was volatile, watch how explosive the next youth protest will be!
