NEWLY-promoted English Premier League side Burnley has emerged as one of the favourites to sign Super Eagles anchorman Frank Onyeka who has just returned from a season-long loan in Die Bundesliga with Augsburg.
Onyeka, 27, is still technically owned by English Premier league side Brentford but was sent out on loan to Germany last season. He has now returned to Brentford at the end of his spell but several clubs, including Burnley, Stuttgart and Fiorentina are now looking to purchase him ahead of the forthcoming 2025/26 season.
A tough-tackling and combative midfielder, Onyeka, has confessed that he is not sure where he will be playing his football next season. To complicate matters further, Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager who signed him has now left for Tottenham Hotspur, so it is not certain if he still has a future at the club or not.
Onyeka is waiting for Brentford to announce their new manager before deciding his next move. For now, the defensive midfielder has one-year left on his contract and might not be willing to sign an extension, depending on what the club is offering.
