Fulham consider making a move for Chukwueze as they look to strengthen ahead of new season

ENGLISH Premier League side Fulham has begun making enquiries about Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze in a development that could lead to him playing alongside compatriots Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi at Craven Cottage.

Chukwueze, 26, is currently on the books of Italian giants AC Milan but has struggled to hold down a starting shirt with the Rossoneri since joining them two years ago. It is believed that Chukwueze is one of the players AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is looking to sell before the close of the current transfer window.

Having only scored eight goals and provided six assists in 69 appearances for AC Milan in two seasons, Chukwueze has been linked with Fulham, although nothing has happened so far. Most of his appearances for Milan have been from the bench and this year, Chukwueze has only gotten 283 minutes of football with the Rossoneri.

So far, Chukwueze he has been working with the team in pre-season but he is not believed to be in the long term plans of new coach Allegri. In recent weeks, Chukwueze has been linked with La Liga clubs including Mallorca, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad and now Fulham has joined the list.

Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin, said: “Fulham remain interested in Chukwueze but there have been no negotiations yet.”

Chukwueze is valued at €10m on Transfermarkt, which makes him a good option for Fulham financially but the worry for them is if he will deliver, especially due to his struggles at AC Milan. Nonetheless, over the coming days, there could be some movement as Fulham need to sign reinforcements ahead of the new season.
