Nigerian Army raids 13 Ipob/ESN camps in Delta State arresting 13 suspects in the process

                                                                           

NIGERIAN Army troops have mounted raids on the military camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) and its armed wing the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Delta State arresting 13 individuals in the process.

In a well coordinated raid, troops of the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector One of the Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe, carried out the operation. According to a statement issued by Captain Iliyasu Rijau, the acting assistant director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, Asaba, the raids were carried out between July 26 and August 1, 2025, at Abacha Camp and Fulani Camp areas in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area.

He said: “The operation was based on intelligence reports and the arrested suspects were handed over to the 63 Military Intelligence Regiment for profiling. After the profiling, four of the suspects, Hossanah John, Obassey Maduabichi, Nwamini Nduka and Aguyi Uchenna were confirmed to be IPOB/ESN collaborators.

“The other nine were found to have no links to the proscribed group and will be released to their families on sureties.”

Brigadier MA Shonibare, the commander of the 63 Brigade and Sector One Joint Task Force, praised the troops who participated in the raid for their efforts. He assured the public that the army remains committed to keeping Delta State safe and peaceful.
