Furo Iyenemi's teenage son Kaye joins Brentford after signing five-and-a-half year deal

NIGERIA-eligible teenage striker Kaye Furo has just signed a five-and-a-half year contract with English Premier League side Brentford bringing about an end to his nine year stint at Belgian side Club Brugge.

Kaye, 18, is the son of former Super Eagles defender Furo Iyenemi, who helped Nigeria finish second at the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations and also played for the Dream Team II at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia that year. Born in Okrika, Rivers State, Kaye grew up in Belgium, so is this eligible to represent both nations at international level.

At the moment, Kaye is leaning towards playing for Belgium, having already played for their U15 and U16 teams and recently made his first competitive appearance with the U17 squad in a Uefa European Championship match against Finland. He later played for the U18 and U19 teams and finally made his debut with the U21 team in September 2025.

Kaye, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall, is leaving Club Brugge after spending nine years with the team. He was a member of the Royal Antwerp youth academy prior to signing for Club Brugge in 2017 and in 2022, at the age of 15 years-old, he signed his first professional contract, agreeing a five-year deal.

Brentford manager Keith Andrews, said: “I have no doubt he will be a big player for us." Kaye's deal is reported to be worth £8.7m.
