This Nigerian Local Government Bill 2026 must be passed into law before next year’s elections

[1] Everyone of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas must be added to the national rail network. Each secretariat must have a functioning railway station

[2] There must be at least one technical vocational college in every local government area

[3] Every local government area must have an electricity distribution station

[4] Each one of our local government areas must host an annual sports festival every year

[5] Every local government area must cover its annual expenditure through internally generated revenue

[6] All of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas must have at least one industrial estate

[7] Every single one of Nigeria’s local government areas must have at least one general hospital

[8] Each of Nigeria’s local government areas must have at least five secondary schools

[9] Every single one of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas must have a refuse disposal agency

[10] Each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas must be committed to ensuring that at least 40% of all its political appointments are female
