ENGLISH Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have added another Nigerian striker to their books after signing teenager Valentin Joseph from Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Brighton, who recently signed Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK for a record fee of €28m, have decided to add compatriot Joseph to their squad. Once on the books of Liverpool, Valentine, 18, the prolific striker, who scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, will begin his Seagulls career with the club's U21 side.
A prolific striker who scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, Joseph mutually terminated his contract with Blackburn Rovers, paving the way for his move to Brighton. Nine of the goals he scored last season came in the FA Youth Cup, making him the competition's top scorer as Blackburn Rovers reached the semi-finals.
Joseph has now signed a three-year contract, keeping him at Brighton until the end of the 2028/29 season. He already has U21 experience, having registered seven goals in 18 appearances across the Premier League Two, Premier League Cup and National League Cup during his final season at Blackburn Rovers.
