Wilfred Ndidi signs new six year deal with Leicester that will keep at King Power Stadium until 2024

SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new six year contract with his English Premier league clubside Leicester City that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2024.

 

Ndidi, 21, joined Leicester 18 months ago from Belgian side Genk and has since developed into one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents. A tough-tackling and combative midfielder, Ndidi win the most tackles in the Premiership last season and his quality on and off the ball has quickly made him an integral part of Leicester City’s team.

 

A regular in the Super Eagles too, Ndidi who represented Nigeria at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, has played over 60 times for the Foxes and has been named the club’s Young Player of the Year in each of the last two seasons. Several big clubs have been looking at him as a result, which prompted Leicester to secure his services over the long term.

 

Ndidi said: “I’m very happy to sign this contract with Leicester City. I have enjoyed every moment of my time with the football club, so I’m thrilled to be here for six more years. Together with my team-mates and our wonderful supporters, I hope we can look forward to many more fantastic moments."
 

Last season, Ndidi enjoyed a very impressive campaign in which he made 33 appearances in the Premier League. He won more tackles than any other player in the division and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year Award as they team finished ninth-place in the league table.

 

At international level, Ndidi has represented Nigeria at Under-17 and Under-20 level before earning his first senior call-up in October 2015. He has since been capped 19 times for Nigeria, including three times at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and is seen as an integral part of the team going forward.
