Best Nigerian law graduate Akeem Longe wins Winter Williams Prize at Oxford University

NIGERIAN Akeem Longe who emerged as the Overall Best Student in the Nigerian Law School final bar examinations in 2014 has added another feather to his cap picking up the Winter Williams Prize as the best international economic law student at Oxford University.

Mr Longe, who just bagged a Master of Law (LLM) degree from  Oxford University with distinction, excelled once again, notching distinctions in all his modules. Four years ago, Mr Longe, a first class law graduate of the Adekunle Ajasin University, in Ondo State, was adjudged the best student at the Nigerian law School, bagging eight prizes.

Last year he came to the UK to do a masters degree and speaking in Oxford after graduation, Akeem said he was delighted to attain his dream. He thanked all those behind his latest success, saying it crowns his earlier achievements.

Mr Longe added: “This marks the fulfilment of a dream and it is a great delight to have completed my BCL journey here at the University of Oxford after a rigorous intellectual exercise. I am thrilled to have obtained a distinction mark on all modules and to have been awarded the Winter Williams Prize for the best student in International Economic Law.

"It is exhilarating to have received this global stamp of excellence. Oxford University offers me a remarkable opportunity to meet, dine and interact with the best brains across the globe and, in the process, form long lasting bonds of friendship."
